Our Ambulatory Surgery Unit and Operating Room
Technology has had a tremendous impact on the delivery of healthcare services, particularly for Landmark Medical Center’s Ambulatory Surgery Unit (ASU) and Operating Room (OR).
Landmark Medical Center’s main operating rooms are located on the ground floor of the Woonsocket Unit. The full-service operating rooms use state-of-the-art technology, which is continually updated on a regular basis.

Many surgeries can now be performed using minimally invasive techniques, such as laser, laparoscopic, or video-monitoring methods. Landmark Medical Center’s ASU has seen enormous growth. Landmark follows a nationwide trend in that more than three-quarters of all surgeries are performed on an outpatient basis (as one-day surgeries) because of the vast technological advancements of recent years.
Our Commitment to Patient Comfort
Our staff in the both the OR and ASU take special care to ensure that all patients are comfortable and well-informed on the day of their surgeries.
Prior to surgery, all patients undergo pre-admission procedures in which all testing, lab work, and nurse interviews are conducted in the same visit. Family members are encouraged to participate in the process.
On the actual day of the surgery, our family lounge is close at hand so that families members can join their loved ones in the recovery room following surgery.
