Landmark Medical Center a member of Prime Healthcare or Prime Healthcare Foundation, earned an “A” Hospital Safety Grade from The Leapfrog Group, a national nonprofit watchdog that sets standards for excellence in patient care.

Landmark proudly secures its 8th consecutive “A” in the Fall 2023 Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade, maintaining an unbroken streak of excellence in patient safety since 2020. Notably, Landmark proudly stands as Rhode Island’s sole hospital, achieving eight consecutive ‘A’ grades— reinforcing its unwavering commitment to the highest standards of healthcare.

Leapfrog assigns an “A,” “B,” “C,” “D” or “F” grade to general hospitals across the country based on over 30 national performance measures reflecting errors, accidents, injuries and infections, as well as the systems hospitals have in place to prevent harm.

The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is the only hospital ratings program exclusively based on hospital prevention of medical errors, infections and injuries that kill more than 500 patients a day nationally. The Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade is peer-reviewed, fully transparent and free to the public. Grades are updated twice annually in the fall and spring.

Landmark Medical Center’s sustained ‘A’ rating in the Leapfrog Hospital Safety Grade reflects a comprehensive approach to patient safety, encompassing measures such as rigorous medication administration protocols, proactive infection prevention strategies, and initiatives aimed at preventing falls—demonstrating an ongoing commitment to maintaining the highest standards of healthcare excellence.
